I volunteered the dogs as a guide along with fellow board member and President Darrel Feasel (who provided the land) for the James River Chapter of Ruffed Grouse Society Saturday Jan 2nd, 2021 for our Banquet 2020 woodcock hunt. We had four wonderful gentleman come down from Fredericksburg to hunt woodcock near Richmond. We were blessed to flush 21 woodcock over 16 points and they harvested five hard earned woodcock. Mark this kind note after.
"Darrel & Chip,
Thanks again for everything. We were overwhelmed by your hospitality and generosity. You were very giving of both your time and resources. Please pass along our sincere appreciation to John. I know that both Tim and Donny were thrilled to harvest their first woodcock ever.
Furthermore, I just can't say enough about the "dog work". It was nothing short of incredible! I have been an avid upland bird hunter since I was a kid. I have been professionally-guided and hunted over some of the finest bird dogs in the country.....literally from Maine to Georgia and Virginia to South Dakota. It gives me a great deal of pleasure to report that Chip's dogs performed as well as the best of them. The most dogs that I have ever seen working "on the ground" at one time has been three.....never four. Their performance was unbelievable and Chip's handling of them was masterful. There's nothing more than I can say!
Best wishes to all for the New Year.
Mark"
